Durham DH1 5TU Exhibition by Juliet Chenery-Robinson called 'A Diagnosis of Exclusion'

Description: Juliet's work featured on the front cover of the MEA's quarterly ME Essential magazine' (Spring 2009 edition, and in a double-page spread inside). Her series of photographic portraits highlight the alienation, social exclusion and loss of identity faced by people with ME. Accompanying Juliet's show will be an exhibition by Rosy Martin, which examines the overlaps between photography, memory, identity and unconscious processes. Meeting of the US Federal Government Chronic Fatigue Syndrome Advisory Committee

Annual 'Just Walk' Event
Date: May 15
Location: Goodwood Racecourse, West Sussex, and then across the South Downs
Description: Annual 'Just Walk' event to raise money for the ME Association (and other charities). Select one of four routes (60km across to Arundel, entry fee £65; a new 40km route, £55; 20km, £45 or, for the under 12s, £10); and a new 10km route open to adults for £15, or free for the under 12s). Once you've paid the registration fee, all your sponsorship money goes to the ME Association. The fee covers a range of support services and, on the longer routes, snacks and meals. National Fibromyalgia Association Commemorates National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day with "3rd Annual Walk of Fame" and Concert at Cal State Fullerton

Description: Free day-long activities that include a Wellness Fair, educational seminars, 1K and 5K walk. In the evening, R&B singer and new NFA spokesperson, Tony Terry, whose wife has fibromyalgia, will perform a special concert during the closing "Lights of Hope" candle lighting ceremony. Terry will also debut a new song from the National Fibromyalgia Association dedicated especially to the over 10 million people affected by fibromyalgia in the U.S. and 3-5 percent worldwide. "Make Fibromyalgia Visible" is the NFA's theme for this year's National Fibromyalgia Awareness Day, officially observed on May 12. Awareness Day is designed to increase awareness and understanding of fibromyalgia – a chronic pain disorder usually characterized by chronic widespread pain, multiple tender points, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbances, fatigue and often psychological distress.

Schedule of Events at Cal State Fullerton:
Noon: Registration for Walk of Fame opens
1pm – 8:30pm: Wellness Fair, Health screenings, family activities, massages, food & product samples, services, fibromyalgia wellness information and much more.
1:00 – 5:00pm: Educational Seminars and Wellness Activities for health care professionals, people suffering from fibromyalgia and their care givers & friends.
5:00pm: 1K & 5K Walk
6:30pm: Dinner
7:30pm: Closing "Lights of Hope" Ceremony with Special Appearance by R&B singer Tony Terry.
