PRO
  • It worked for me had a lead in time but once my levels were correct found it a great med, a bit on the pricey side though.

  • Recently changed from citalopram to effexor which contains noradrenalin as well as serotonin. I have found myself far more able to cope with the stresses of daily life though when I missed two days recently due to prescription issues, I was very spaced out and felt extremely odd.

  • Uncoordinated for the first 2 weeks. Side effects were not noticed after the second week

CON
  • Initially helped with depression. However, I cannot be late or miss a dose without horrific side-effects. I am trapped on it. I wish I could get off it, but can't. I warn everyone to stay OFF this med

  • If not taken at the same time every day extreme dizziness, headache, and weird sensations in the head occur.

  • Tolerance quickly builds up, leading to withdrawal symptoms and having to increase dose. VERY ADDICTIVE! Withdrawal from drug was horrible. Feelings of electric shocks/impulses all over head and body. Withdrawal symptoms persist for weeks.

PRO
  • This did help take the edge off my depression and anxiety, even in the smaller dose. However, my body began to get used to it and the dose kept going up.

  • It helps one sleep but the side-effects make it not worth taking on a daily basis. Perhaps intermittent use is best.

  • Using between 5mg and 25mg per day depending on how bad my symptoms are.

  • This helps with nerve pain and to help me sleep at night

  • Of course all medications are different for different people, but I found amitriptyline to work really well, you have to get over the first few weeks which make you really drowsy all the time. After getting over that, you sleep better because it takes the general pain away. I adore it!

  • It helped me a lot to have a better quality of sleep and decrease the stiffness of my body in the morning.

CON
  • I've always felt there has to be something better out there than this medication. Sadly I can only afford so much and it comes in a generic form.

  • I found on this medication I kept feeling like a zombie so in the end I had to reduce it to 25 mg so as I just couldn't handle anything higher.

  • This medication made me feel like the walking dead. I wasn't depressed before I took it, but I surely was while taking it.

  • Had a very bad reaction when trying to come off this that resulted in me ending up in hospital. Great for muscle relaxation and muscle pain but not worth the dide effects or reactions coming off it. Which my specialist and ambulance men said is very common. Thought I was having a heart attack then hour later doctors thought I'd had a stroke. So not worth it!!

PRO
  • Works well but takes about an hour to start working.

  • Very big difference with doses. Cannot tolerate 10mg. Cannot do without and 5 mg doesn't overdo it.
  • At bedtime. Helps muscles relax so you can get better rest and sleep. Better rest & sleep = less pain.

  • Very helpful for the muscle spasms that make worse fibromyalgia symptoms, and worked on low back pain/abdominal that nothing else seemed to reach.

  • I don't think Flexeril is effective on it's own, for me. So my doctor added Zanaflex, together they help so much.

CON
  • Flexeril is a good medicine for relief of the muscle aches and it relaxes you. However, it has a short effectiveness. So, if you are always in pain, this is not the medicine you would want to take because you would need one every 4 hours.

  • It did nothing to help with the pain or to help me sleep.

PRO
  • Works well!

  • I wouldn't give this up for it helps ever so much with my Restless Legs.

  • Stops the restless legs, do not wake up with the fogged out feeling that you would on most other sleeping pills.

  • This medication helps me sleep which I couldn't before I had insomnia for months. It also gives you a better quality of life by helping a lot of the symptoms that you suffer with ie. panic attacks, cognitive problems, feeling better for short periods of time.

  • This medicine did the very best for my restless legs and Fibro. Unfortunately, Doc took me off as it was a narcotic. Docs are becoming paranoid that we are all addicts because of the Doctor shopping that has happened by drug dealers.

  • I tend to rock my legs at night and this calms them.

CON
  • Works fast but effect do not last as long as Flexeril.

  • Works for some quick, slight relief of spasms, but not long lasting and not for overall muscle spasms.

  • I have been on LDN for 2 yrs and it has given me back my life to some degree. I was mostly house bound with increasingly worsening infections. (scary) Since being on LDN I can function, no more infections and my cognitive is much clearer. I'm still not able to work but certainly doing way better then before. I would certainly recomend giving it a try. I'm not sure how I would have gone on living without this. LDN has given me hope to go on.

  • Helps me cope with the depression that goes along beside my FM

  • Like most meds it takes a certain amount of doses to work fully and the lead in is where most unapealing side effects happen. So my advice is give the meds a chance as per docs advice and unless the side effects are dangerous stick with it!

  • I take a fairly large dose for clinical depression. I've found that a decreased sex drive does not mean you can't have some fun with your partner! So many things to do and play with a wonderful warm loving body next to you.

PRO
  • Sometimes helps the breakthrough pain.

  • Works good for me.

  • Better than nothing. Just ok with pain.

  • Since they're not as effective as they use to be the Dr wants to decrease the meds. They're the only meds that actually keep me moving and without them I. Don't think I will be able to function.

  • Vicodin has been a life saver. Helps greatly with pain, and it also gives me energy. Could not get out of bed without it. Unfortunately, doctors are hesitant to prescribe, and so I am under-medicated. If I could be properly medicated, I might be able to do more than lie in bed most of the day.

  • This is the only thing I have found that helps. Unfortunately my doctor will not prescribe it except on rare occasions.

  • My formula is Norco of 10/325. I limit myself on taking this so my body won't get used to it. I tend to take it at night to kill pain so I can sleep better.

CON
  • Didn't touch the pain, and made it worse from the vomiting.

  • It may work if the dosages were better. My Doc gives 5/325 mg. 3 a day...alot of pain continues with even worse breakthrough pain.

  • This medication should be used judiciously as it has risks of addiction.

PRO
  • For me, the side effects are worth a little relief.

  • Helps me get sleep; reduces fibro flares; makes life manageable.

  • Although some of the side effects are troublesome, this medication in combination with amitryptilene has been very helpful in respect of restorative sleep and pain control.

  • I wanted to stop Lyrica because of vision issues and weight gain but reconsidered after the return of much pain! Guess my feet hurting from additional 25 lbs. will have to be addressed with some ugly shoes! LOL

  • I applied to Pfizer's "Connection to Care" assistance program and was accepted. This is my lifeline. Without Lyrica I move so painfully. Lyrica works well for me. Don't give up as you try to find solutions. Find a way to live your life as well as you can.

  • Found Dr that ordered this 1 yr before it was approved for FM. Will never be able to thank him enough. It doesn't make it go away, but until recently it has been a lifesaver. Think it is time to make the last increase and see if it helps now, or to switch and try neurontin for a while.

  • I qualified for help through the company, otherwise I couldn't afford it. The generic didn't work for me.

  • I had put that Lyrica has worked for me "most of the time" because I still have to watch what I do and how much. Other than that, it's great.

  • I could not function on a day to day basis without this medicine. Without it I am in constant pain and cannot walk, stand, or sit comfortably for any length of time. It also lets me sleep comfortably enough to actually get rest. Lyrica has been my miracle drug

  • It is very expensive even if the insurance company is paying some. Both my girls are on 790mg a day which is really expensive, but if it helps them feel even a little better it is worth it.

  • This medicine is the only thing that lets me have a normal life. I've been taking it for over 3 years, and have not noticed a decrease in effectiveness as I have with other meds. It makes it where I can move without wanting to cry, and lets me sleep through the night without pain making me toss and turn all night. Since my pain is under control, I can maintain a moderate exercise routine, so I've actually lost weight instead of gaining it. I would definitely recommend Lyrica to others. It did take several weeks to become fully effective for me, but there was a difference for me by week 2.

  • I have been in a lot less pain, than before. I would recommend at least trying this medication as it has improved my quality of life at this time. The only side effect I have noticed is fluid retention especially in my hands.

  • Everyone is different so you must judge for yourself.

  • Lyrica gave me noticeable pain relief. Problem is, after I lost my health insurance, I could no longer afford Lyrica and the state prescription program I'm on does not cover it. I tried the generic form, but the side effects of increased depression and anxiety were so bad and it didn't decrease the FMS pain, that I stopped taking the generic.

CON
  • Faithfully took Lyrica as prescribed for 8 months, to no avail. Had absolutely NO change in level of pain, aches, etc. Am grateful that I received this med free. Just wish it had worked.

  • This was stopped quickly as it made me lose control of my bladder

  • I have gained 32lbs so far on this medication and the weight gain itself is causing problems on top of the ME and Fibromyalgia.

  • Lyrica DID cut my pain level about in half. The side effects were too much. I felt like a totally different person.

  • Just 100mg had me higher than a kite and then the come down the next day, I was a lifeless, useless lump.

  • Depression is worse than pain!

  • I do not feel that this medication does what it claims to do. I still have pain which has increased and the side affects outweigh any benefit that it is supposed to have.

  • I have spent the last 4 years climbing out of the hole I ended up in while taking Lyrica. I will NEVER take this medication again, and I definitely don't recommend it.

  • I couldn't take it during the day. It was as if I was on some kind of street drug, loopy, goofy, etc.

  • Gained 40lbs. in the year I was on it. I really can't say that it made a big difference in pain reduction

  • My insurance did not want to pay for it and even before that I had trouble meeting the co pay.

  • I've gained 50 lbs

  • Took for over a years time and I turned into Dr Jeckle and Mr Hyde.

  • It was the worst medicine I've ever been on next to Depakote which made me gain 68 lbs in 6 months

  • I had high hopes for this medication but it only worked for 2 days.

  • If you do not get any kind of side effects, like I did, this is an awesome medication for the pain associated with Fibromyalgia. I loved it, but when my feet started to swell up, the doctor took me off it. What a shame. The medication was great.

  • If my son had not noticed a change in my behavior I wouldn't be here now.... I had my suicide all planned out.

  • The most horrific medication I have ever been on. I gained 90lbs. in 9 months without realizing it! When I went off the medication I continued to gain weight, up to 120lbs. Now I have more health problems due to obesity, on top of everything else. Thank you LYRICA!

  • Worst pill I have ever taken... I would never tell anybody to take this drug. The side affects I had are now permanent and I have to live with these now besides pain. Not right at all!

  • Had a lot of side effects didn't seem to do much for pain levels. Came off them and found I could manage pain levels better and that a lot of my symptoms that had become worse were actually side effects of the pregabalin.

  • I DON'T TRUST THE DRUG COMPANIES UNTIL AN INDEPENDANT & UNBIASED STUDY HAS BEEN DONE I WILL NOT BE A GUINEA PIG & ADD TO THEIR PROFITS.

  • I had horrible side affects: swelling legs, ankles, face (not Diebetic), elevated blood sugar, severe rain, no sleep, weight gain 60 lbs.
